Muslim Women in Prison Pilot Report
LBN would like to bring to your attention a groundbreaking report on Muslim women in prison and the challenges faced by these women, both in prison and within their communities outside of prison. Examples of issues include;

  • rejection by family and breakdown of the family unit
  • rebuilding self esteem after release
  • relocation away from their community

They don’t get that when I’m released their duty stops at the gate but i get another sentence from the community and that lasts forever.’

It’s so confusing because nobody in the family has been to prison before let alone a girl – there’s a big shame in that and i spend a lot of time crying over this because who will want to marry her now?

Channel Four TV Show
Channel Four are commissioning a TV show following families with young children and you could be involved! Details are below – the film company have expressed to LBN that the deadline for families to put themselves forwards is 17th May.
