Palastinian women visit Pendle Pendle Palestine Twinning Group recently welcomed four women from Palestine, two of which were from the twinned town of Beit Leed. The women spoke to residents, visited Pendle Womens Forum, and participated in a Q and A session with students from Nelson & Colne College, where they shared their experiences and challenges faces living in the occupied state. LBN Director Nweeda Khan was present to talk to the women and was full of admiration for their courage and resilience.
Calling all North Lancashire BME community groups!! LBN are in the early stages of putting together a focus group for North Lancashire (covering Lancaster and Morecambe, Wyre, Fylde, and Blackpool) to engage with and assess the needs of BME community groups in the area.
Membership support packages LBN values the work our members undertake in the community and strives to support you all in expanding on that community work. We are currently working on the support package offer that LBN members receive, but in the meantime if you are a member and would like to have an organisational health check and take up the support we offer, or you are a non-member and would like to enquire about the support that Lancashire BME Network could offer your organisation, call the office on 01254 392974 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lancashire BME Network Funding Workshop! LBN are delighted to be inviting you to our latest Funding workshop on the 28th May. In attendance will be representatives from Big Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund, Lloyds Foundation, Lancashire Sport, Burnley Pendle & Rossendale CVS, and Hyndburn & Ribble Valley CVS.
Whether you have a full project plan, or just an outline concept, this will be a great opportunity to sit face-to-face with funders and explore what support is out there for the community. The format for the event will be a “speed date” style, with you booking 5 minute slots with the funders you wish to discuss your proposal with. Any time left at the end of the evening will be for networking and further discussions.

BBC Children in Need – Small Grants Programme Not for profit organisations can apply for grants of up to Â£10,000 through the Small Grants Programme. Grants are available for projects that achieve one of the following aims;
Help children and young people experiencing illness, distress, abuse, or neglect
Work with people who have any kind of disability
Work with people who have behavioural or psychological difficulties
Think Big with O2 O2 has announced it”s Think Big with O2 funding programme will re-open on 1st April 2015. The programme supports young people (aged 13-25 years old) who want to make a positive difference to their community. Initial funding is limited to Â£300 to deliver a pilot project, but if a project is completed successfully, the young people involved may be invited to apply for further funding of up to Â£2,500 for the second stage. Deadline for applications is 10th June 2015, and further information can be found at http://www.o2thinkbig.co.uk Kelly Family Charitable Trust Family Support Programme Registered charities can apply for funding to support projects that support and encourage families to work as a cohesive unit – with the overall objective to reinforce the benefit and support that family members can provide each other. The fund welcomes applications from sports and health related charities whose activities comply with the aims of the funding. Grants are available for between Â£1,000 and Â£5,000 but higher grants are considered in exceptional circumstances.
